Pasco Performance Management Director tells Pasco story

PASCO COUNTY, FL ---- Dr. Marc Bellas, the man responsible for overseeing Pasco County’s shift to Performance Management, was invited to be a main presenter at the Enterprise Project World Conference in Orlando, June 10, 2016.

The conference was hosted by the Project Management Institute with the goal of promoting education and professional development for project managers. Dr. Bellas shared his insight and knowledge through his presentation, ‘Creating Success via Effective Performance Management’ – focusing on shifting the culture of leadership with a proactive approach and consistent messaging.

“Pasco County is working hard to transition to a performance management-based leadership style,” said Pasco County Organizational Performance Management Director Dr. Marc Bellas. “We’re teaching our leaders to get ahead of problems, to focus on customer experience and to measure our performance in a way we can use the results to do better.”

Bellas says the Organizational Performance Management model is used in high-performing private sector organizations across the country, but is rarely applied to government operations. He says the structure allows Pasco County to remain nimble and enables a rapid response to emerging and changing circumstances.
