1. Where are the Waste-to-Energy and landfill located?

West Side of the County - The physical address is 14230 Hays Road, Spring Hill, Florida 34610.
East Side of the County - East Pasco Transfer Station, 9626 Handcart Road, Dade City, Florida.

2. What are the hours of operation for the landfills?

7:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Saturday. We are closed on Sundays and holidays.

NO LARGE LOADS of construction debris, brush, or trash will be accepted after 4:30 pm. The gates and scales will be closed at 4:30 pm.

3. What are the charges at the landfill?

a. Construction debris is charged $56.70 per ton, prorated at $2.84 per 100 pounds.

b. Yard waste is charged $56.70 per ton, prorated.

c. Tires are charged $100 per ton. Car and pickup truck tires are charged $1.00 per tire up to ten. Over ten, they are charged $100.00 per ton. Large truck/semi-tractor trailer tires are charged $5.00 per tire up to ten. Over ten, they are charged $100.00 per ton. Off-road equipment tires are charged $100.00 per ton.

d. Items that require special handling (large loads of trash requiring escort to the Waste-To-Energy) are charged $56.70 per ton, prorated.

e. Refrigerators and air conditioners brought in by residents will be charged $3.00 per item; however, appliances brought in by commercial haulers will be charged $56.70 per ton. Propane tanks (20 gallons) are $3.00 each. Propane tanks up to 50 gallons are $5.00 each.

f. Electronics, computer equipment, and television sets up to 36 inches brought in by residents will be charged $5.00 per item. Projection and TVs over 36 inches are $10.00 per item. Computer monitors are $5.00 each. Items brought in by commercial haulers will be charged $200.00 per ton.

g. Tare weights are charged $2.00 each.

4. Is there a charge if I bring my household trash to the landfill?

There is no charge for household trash if it is bagged, boxed, or containerized, as if it were to be put at the curb for collection; however, oversized loads, loose loads, or excessive loads of furniture, rugs, cardboard, etc., will be charged $56.70 a ton, prorated.

5. Where can I dispose of household hazardous waste?

Paint, batteries, and oil (five gallons maximum) from households will only be accepted at the landfills Hazardous Waste Center during normal working hours. Insecticides, fertilizers, weed killers, etc., should be brought to the Hazardous Waste Center on Hays Road (west side) on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and to the East Pasco Transfer Station every Wednesday and the second Saturday of each month, 8:00 am - 2:00 pm.

6. Does the landfill accept garbage from other counties?

No. The Resource Recovery Facility and landfill are for Pasco County residents only. Out-of-county waste WILL NOT be accepted. Attendants may ask for proof of residency (driver's license, utility bill, or tax bill).

7. If the property is my rental property, do I still have to pay tipping fees at the scale house?

Yes. Rental properties are a business and will be charged. All commercial haulers will be charged.

8. Are credit cards acceptable payment at the landfill?

Yes, we now accept credit cards at the landfill. VISA and MasterCard only.
