The Survey Division:
  • Collects field data for the design of roads, utility projects, drainage studies, and unique situations within the County government
  • Prepares legal descriptions for property to be acquired by the County
  • Processes subdivision plats for recording
  • Provides County departments with drawings and information regarding land boundaries and assists the public with questions concerning surveying and land information only. 
  • Reviews legal documents and sketches for closure and completeness with in the County departments
  • Reviews right of way maps for right of way acquisition

The division is also responsible for staking property for public works projects, condemnation, court proceedings, right of way parcels for appraisals, and special projects. They also process GPS data for the utilities and stormwater divisions. This division is currently responsible for a variety of historical documents and certain aerials.

Our goal is to continue to work with developers, engineers and surveyors to record plats for future public use.. We strive to work with engineers and consultants to review their right of way maps, legal descriptions and sketches and to work with our utilities division to establish an accurate street light and asset database. Finally, we continue to provide survey services to other divisions and departments within the County.

Survey Division establishes and maintains the central database on right-of-ways. Survey Division creates and reviews right-of-way maps which results in the improvement of infrastructure. Survey Division compiles right-of-way information assuring that other Departments can install assets within County Property. Survey Division initiates the process of Maintained right-of-way mapping that brings under control of the Board of County Commissioners property (Roads) that the county has maintained but does not own the fee to, which results in additional legal rights-of-way filed in accordance with Florida Statute 471.
NOTE: The Survey Division is not a receptacle for private surveying private residence boundary and improvement or private topographical surveys. We do not provide private surveying services
