OverviewLittle Road

The primary responsibility of the Road and Bridge Department is to provide and maintain a safe roadway network for the traveling public. At the present time, this includes the maintenance of 1,828 miles of roadway, 44 bridges and over 70,000 traffic signs. Thermoplastic roadway striping, rights-of-way mowing, grading of unpaved roads, asphalt patching, landscape maintenance and other functions related to road maintenance are under this department’s jurisdiction.

Road and Bridge is also responsible for the Paving Assessment Program and acts as a support service for various other agencies.
