1. How do I request service or report road problems?

The best way to report potholes, or request any other service from this department, is to file a Service Request with Pasco County Customer Service Department at (727) 847-2411 or (352) 523-2411. This way a work request is sent to Road & Bridge and the work can be scheduled.

2. How long do road repairs take?

It depends on the extent of the work required and current schedules, however, most Service Requests are resolved within ten working days.

3. How do roads become County maintained?

Roads constructed by the County, for example through the Capital Improvement Program, automatically become part of the maintenance program. For subdivision roads, the developer posts a maintenance bond and the roads have to be constructed to County specifications prior to acceptance.

4. How do I get my street repaved?

While the County will resurface major arterial and collector roadways, lower volume residential streets are repaved under the Public Works and Improvements (Paving Assessment) Ordinance No. 85-06. The benefiting property owners share the cost for these projects. For more information on Paving Assessments call (727) 847-8140.

5. Why does the County grade some unpaved roads and not others?

Since unpaved roads have a substantially higher maintenance cost it has been the practice of the County not to accept any additional unpaved roads into the system. Over the last couple of decades, the County has not accepted unpaved roads into the maintenance program.

6. How is the Road & Bridge Department funded?

The monies for road maintenance come from the Local Option Gas Tax. No property taxes are used for this purpose.

7. Does the County maintain sidewalks?

The County only maintains sidewalks in cases where the County constructed the sidewalk. The maintained sidewalks are normally part of the major road network. Sidewalks constructed by developers or property owners are not maintained.

8. Who maintains the traffic signals?

The Traffic Operations Division of Engineering Services maintains all the traffic signals in Pasco County, even those located on non-County maintained roads.

10. How can I request repair of pot holes?

To have potholes repaired by our Road & Bridge Department you can do one of two things: 
Call the Customer Service Center to take a request for you or you can utilize our online Customer Service Center by going to the Pasco County web site: www.pascocountyfl.net and click on Service Center, click on make a request, click on categories for Road & Bridge and choose Pothole whether on a major road or not a major road. The system will then walk you through creating an account and a request to be submitted for the Road & Bridge Department for repair.

11. The school bus can not pick up my child because the road is closed. Where is he / she going to be picked up?

Road closures can occur for multiple reasons. If you have a child who's bus stop may be affected, the best first course of action would be to contact the Pasco County School Board transportation department to see if they have an alternate bus route for your child.
