1. Do I have to be a full time employee to get health insurance benefits?

Yes. You must work at least 30 hours or more per week.

2. When are benefits effective for a newly hired, full time employee?

The first of the month following 90 days.

3. When is Open Enrollment?

Open Enrollment is usually held the first two weeks in August.

4. Can I change my beneficiaries at any time?

Yes. Please contact the Risk Managment office (727) 847-8028 to obtain a change form.

5. Can my parents be covered under my health insurance?

No, parents are not considered "eligible" dependents under our health plan.

6. Do we have a vision plan through Pasco County BOCC?

Vision exams are covered under our Florida Blue health care plan (see "Benefits Summary" for details). We also receive vision-related discounts through Florida Blue's "Blue 365" discount program.
