Human Services strives to meet the needs of Pasco County's residents by connecting them to available resources in the community as well as providing direct services when available.

United Way of Pasco County

United Way of Pasco County can help point you in the right direction if you're not sure who to call or where to go for assistance.  Their operators can provide information, referrals, telephone counseling and crisis intervention services.  To reach United Way, simply dial 2-1-1 on your telephone.

 Access to Valuable Resources for Citizens and Providers at

Pasco County Libraries has helped develop and maintain a one-stop website called that provides access to valuable Federal, State, and Local government and social services programs, agencies, and resources.  An example of just a few of the resources available through the website include:
  • Food Stamps (DCF)
  • Unemployment Compensation
  • Assistance with utilities
  • Medicaid and Medicare
  • Job searching
  • Shelters and Housing
  • Help Filing Taxes
  • Education
  • And Many More!

Learn More About SHINE

SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) is a free program offered by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and your local Area Agency on Aging.  Specially trained volunteers can assist you with your Medicare, Medicaid, and health insurance questions by providing one-on-one counseling and information.  SHINE services are free, unbiased, and confidential.

SHINE was featured in a video for Aging on the Suncoast.  You can view the video to learn more about the program.
