Christopher Dewey from our Cooperative Extension Office has been selected as the March 2008 Employee of the Month. Chris is the Florida Yards and Neighborhoods Program Coordinator for the Cooperative Extension Office. As such Chris has been involved in green initiatives in the County and maintains a green “clippings” email distribution service. In the fall of this year a team of county staff and other volunteers began working together to put on a Green Workshop. Chris volunteered to assist as the event coordinator. He handled a myriad of logistical and programming details and facilitated meetings, while at the same time keeping up with his regular responsibilities. On March 14, the Green Workshop was held at the PHCC Performing Arts Center. There were nearly 200 people in attendance. The event went off without a hitch and the attendees and speakers were all very pleased with the materials presented. Chris took on this project with enthusiasm, spent considerable time and effort ensuring it's success, and presented a very professional and well received event. Congratulations on your selection.

2007 Employee of the Year | ||
|
Bill Giering from the Libraries Department has been
selected as the 2007 Employee of the Year.On August 9, 2007, while on his
way back to New Port Richey from the Land O' Lakes Library, Bill stopped
to assist at a house fire. In spite of the dangers involved Bill
attempted to enter the home after hearing that there was an
occupant. Although overcome by smoke, and having to exit the home,
he remained on the scene to assist until Fire Rescue arrived. As the
situation continued, he and others who stopped attempted to do what they
could to render aide. Among other actions, in particular Bill saw
there was a barbeque grill near the home with an attached propane tank, so
he quickly removed it from the area preventing a potential explosion.
Pasco County and the Libraries staff are very proud of Bill for his bravery and quick thinking. Congratulations on your selection! |
