J..B.STARKEY WILDERNESS PRESERVE UPDATE

Pasco County has currently 34 County parks, that serve the needs of the residents by providing various amenities from  wilderness camping to meticulous maintained sports fields.  The County is home to three State Canoe Trails: Pithlachascotee River Trail, Hillsborough River State Recreation Trail, and the Withlacoochee River Canoe Trail.   In addition, the County is the southern terminus of the Withalcoochee State Trail, a linear State park.

Park Rules

HANDICAPPED ACCESS - Person with special needs should contact one of the Parks and Recreation offices or the Park Operator assigned to the specific park of interest for access information.

DOMESTIC ANIMALS - Domestic animals are restricted from Pasco County Parks, Unless otherwise noted. Pets on a leash are allowed at Crews Lake Park, Withlacoochee River Park, and Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park. Seeing eye dogs are allowed in all areas.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES - The consumption of alcoholic beverages in Pasco County parks, recreation areas, or facilities is prohibited.
