Sports Event Sponsorship Program Application
The intention of the Sports Event Sponsorship Program is to facilitate and foster the growth of sports events in Pasco County while increasing the marketing efforts to enhance visitor travel, hotel stays, retail store traffic and restaurant business which assists in generating out of county and out of state economic impact. The sports event should promote Pasco County as a tourist destination for visitors. A sport is considered an activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.
The Sports Event Sponsorship Program provides funding based on room nights generated in Pasco County at a rate of up to $12.00 per room night for up to the amount approved for the Board of County Commissioners.
If your organization is interested in hosting a sports event in Pasco County, please call the Destination Management Organization (DMO) to discuss the event in detail prior to beginning the application process. Once you speak to the Sports Marketing Coordinator, use the following links to guide you through the eligibility requirements and application process. All applications must be submitted online using the fillable forms, at least 90 days prior to the event, Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. The DMO will take a minimum of 30 days to review the application and complete internal processes.
The following are allowable expenses under the Florida Statue 125.0104(5)(a)3 that may be funded through the Event Sponsorship Program and the funding amount will be determined based on the number of room nights in Pasco hotels:

REIMBURSEMENT POLICY & POST EVENT REPORTING:
The reimbursement process will be performance-based:
1. Each organization will be required to provide a post event report. The report will be due within 45 days of the completion of the event.
2. The sponsorship fee will be awarded based on room nights generated in Pasco County at a rate of $12.00 per room night for up to the amount approved for the Board of County Commissioners.
3. In order to confirm the room nights generated in Pasco County, the Event organizer will need to provide Block Reports from hotels or housing bureaus along with the Post Event Report; however, a Room Night Certification Form and Participant Surveys (including a summary reflecting the number of room nights produced in Pasco County) are acceptable means of tracking. For the events that impose an online booking tool, it is the event organizer’s responsibility to track room nights from overnight stays at all Pasco County accommodations.
4. The Post Event Report must include a summary of the Promotional value to Pasco County, i.e.: press/media coverage, newspaper, on-air, social media, magazine, etc.
