The USDOT has released the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for Fiscal Year 17-18 Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) Discretionary Grant (https://www.transportation.gov/buildamerica/infragrants). This year $1.5 billion is made available for projects that will revitalize, repair and rebuild America’s infrastructure.
INFRA advances a pre-existing grant program (FASTLANE) and utilizes updated criteria to evaluate projects to align them with national and regional economic vitality goals and to leverage additional non-federal funding. The new program is expected to increase the impact of projects by leveraging capital and allowing innovation in the project delivery and permitting processes, including public-private partnerships.
Pasco County is excited to submit an application for the FY 17-18 INFRA Discretionary Grant in order to support the development of an interchange at I-75 at Overpass Road. East Pasco County is growing and becoming a premier regional destination for innovation, economic opportunity, and quality of life. The construction of this project will project will assist with enhancing mobility and advancing access to opportunities for the region.
The project has garnered strong partnerships from around the region including public agencies, private enterprise, and elected officials. Partners, collaborators, and stakeholders from Pasco County are in agreement that the I-75 at Overpass Road Interchange is a top priority and is crucial to the health of mobility along this growing corridor.
