Foster Program

PCAS is fortunate to have a robust rescue partner community that is our first line of contact for foster or transfer needs. We are not accepting foster applications at this time. If you are interested in fostering, please apply through one of our rescue partners. Thanks for supporting Pasco pets!

Is the kitten you found abandoned?  Check out our Leave Them Be recommendations.  We would like to keep families together and often is it better for our kittens to grow up with their mother.  Once old enough they can be candidates for our SNIP TNVR program.

Not sure how old your kitten is?  Check out this guide to determine the most likely age.

Criteria for Foster

Kittens under 2 pounds are not able to be safely sterilized and are at high risk of becoming ill in the shelter, as their immune systems are not strong enough to protect them. Kittens/cats that require foster must meet one or more of the below listed criteria.

  • Have a contagious disease (like ringworm) that disqualifies them from the adoption floor.
  • Have serious/severe medical issue(s).
  • Nursing mother.
  • Require additional socialization prior to adoption.
  • Weigh in at under 2lbs.
