PCAS is fortunate to have a robust rescue partner community that is our first line of contact for foster or transfer needs. We are not accepting foster applications at this time. If you are interested in fostering, please apply through one of our rescue partners listed below. Thanks for supporting Pasco pets!
Kittens under 2 pounds are not able to be safely sterilized and are at high risk of becoming ill in the shelter, as their immune systems are not strong enough to protect them. Kittens and cats that require foster must meet at least one of these criteria:
Has a contagious disease, like ringworm, that disqualifies it from the adoption floor
Has serious medical issue(s)
Is a nursing mother
Requires additional socialization prior to adoption
Weighs under 2 pounds
Dogs are available for medical foster on a case-by-case basis. Dogs that meet the below criteria may be considered for foster. Dogs with behavioral concerns will not be considered for foster at this time.
Have a contagious disease such as upper respiratory infection
Our rescue partners help make what seems impossible, in many cases, possible. These amazing groups assist with transferring, caring for and finding homes for several pets at Pasco County Animal Services. Many of our positive outcomes occur because of our relationship with groups listed below.
Effective Nov. 1, 2018, all 501(c)3 rescue organizations in Pasco County are required to purchase licensing for the pets in their care. For more information and to purchase tags, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
