Down Payment Assistance Program (DPA)

Community Development provides assistance to income-eligible buyers toward the purchase of a home in Pasco County if you have not owned a home in the last 3 years. Applicant households who make less than 120% of Area Median Income (AMI) for the Tampa Bay Area may apply for assistance. Funding for both programs is based on current availability for each income level.

NEWS

Pasco County Community Development will be opening the Down Payment Assistance (DPA) program effective March 25th, 2021

All interested homebuyers will need to contact Suncoast Housing Connections  (Tampa Bay Community Development Corporation) to attend a Home Buyer Education Class.  Homebuyers must work with a Community Development approved lender.

Lender’s trainings will be available via WebEx on March 9th at 10 a.m. and March 11th at 3 p.m.  All interested lenders will need to contact Melissa Brass at mbrass@pascocountyfl.net to register for one of the trainings.

Realtors will need to sign a “Letter of Understanding” to participate in the DPA program.  Realtors working with a potential homebuyer can contact Melissa Brass at mbrass@pascocountyfl.net for the letter.

How do I repay this loan?

The funds provided through Pasco County will be a zero interest loan that is recorded as a second mortgage on your home. These funds must be repaid. The repayment of these funds helps sustain our programs, allowing other homebuyers to be assisted in the future. Very Low and Low applicants will begin payback in 5 years; Moderate income applicants will begin paying back their loan immediately.
