Pasco County will be hosting a Stakeholders Meeting on the Cotee River Trail Underpass (US 19/SR55) - Phase I Feasibility Study on:

to brainstorm ideas for a trail connecting the City of Port Richey and the City of New Port Richey within the“Heart of the Harbors” area known as Millers Bayou, with an emphasis on the US 19 underpass. The proposed trail underpass will ultimately connect to the City of Port Richey Hike N Bike Trail that runs along Old Post Road, through the Millers Bayou Peninsula, under the US 19 bridge at the Cotee River, along Baylea Drive, up James Clark Street to Grand Boulevard, down Grand Boulevard to Sims Park in the City of New Port Richey, with a trail alignment to be determined.
The Stakeholder Meeting goals are to revisit/define the vision for the Millers Bayou Area and Trail, Stakeholder input will be solicited on potential trail alignments and types of trails. Additionally, stakeholders will brainstorm/identify potential trail amenities. Stakeholder Meeting participants will be provided the opportunity to prioritize the favorite ideas presented by all participants at the meeting. The meeting will be facilitated by professional planners.

The Cotee River Trail Underpass - Phase I Feasibility Study is funded through an Interlocal Agreement between Pasco County, the City of Port Richey and the City of New Port Richey. This study is being conducted in advance of further study for future phases as part of the Millers Bayou Working Waterfront catalyst project (pending Governor DeSantis approval of the state budget), which may include plans for a Riverwalk / boardwalk, connecting trails, marine docks, and planning for future parking structures and/or surface parking on the east side of US 19, and/or multi-use development (hotel, retail, housing).
