Every year, Earth Day is celebrated in Pasco County on the fourth Saturday of April at Crews Lake Park, in Shady Hills, Florida. The next Earth Day event will be held on April 25, 2020. This event is a collaboration between Keep Pasco Beautiful, Covanta, Pasco County Environmental Compliance, Pasco County Public Works, Pasco County Recycling and Education Department, Pasco County Parks and Recreation, and the Pasco County School Board.

Activities will include the following:

  • Live broadcast remote with HITS 106 radio station 
  • Children’s crafts and educational displays
  • Ladybug releases
  • Electronics recycling: All household electronics will be accepted at no charge; TV’s will also be accepted at no charge for the first two. A $7.00 fee will be charged for each additional TV.
  • Household hazardous waste collection: Call 813-929-2755 ext. 2046 for information
  • Rain water harvesting workshop at 10:00 am
  • Composting workshop at 1:00 pm
  • Document shredding
  • Pill Take-Back program - Bring any expired or unused medications for disposal
  • Mercury bounty - Bring a mercury containing device for a $5.00 gift card (excludes light bulbs)
  • Florida native plants sale
  • Adoptable pets


In 2019. there were 1,300 attendees and 51 vendors. Seventy-five vehicles dropped of materials at the hazardous waste loop. This year we are and expecting approximately 2,000 attendees.
