Virtual Public Comment Instructions

Board of County Commissioners, Planning Commission, and MPO Meetings will be held as VIRTUAL MEETINGS with Elected Officials, Board and Commission members, and County staff participating through video conferencing.  Please be advised that other Boards and Advisory committees will also be meeting virtually, until further notice.  For information on those meetings, please check the County Calendar or contact County Administration (727) 847-8115.

Phone call During Meeting - Phone call participants will need to pre-register by completing a Virtual Public Comment Form, or by calling the County’s Customer Service Center at (727) 847-2411.  A separate pre-registration will be required for each virtual meeting.  

Pre-registration must be completed by:

  • 5:00 p.m. the day prior to the meeting for the Board of County Commissioners and the Planning Commission Meetings
  • 9:00 a.m. the day prior to the Metropolitan Planning Organization Meetings

**If you have not pre-registered by the specified time, you will be unable to participate in the Public Comment portion of the meeting.

Phone call participants must call into the meeting 15 minutes prior to the start time of the meeting, and will utilize the call-in number provided at the time of pre-registration.   Phone call participants will be placed in a queue on a first-come, first-served basis.  During the meeting, callers will be notified by a member of County staff when they will be permitted to speak. Each phone call participant is limited to three (3) minutes for such comments, unless additional time is approved by the Chairman at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. Callers must announce their name, address, and Agenda Item number or Agenda Item Title before speaking.

Please note that Governor DeSantis’ Executive Order Number 20-69 suspended the requirement of a quorum to be present in-person or requires a local government body to meet at a specific public place. The Executive Order also allows local government bodies to utilize communications media technology, such as telephonic and video conferencing for local government body meetings. Additionally, Governor DeSantis’ Executive Order Number 20-91 directs all persons in the State of Florida to limit their movements and personal interactions outside of their home to only those necessary to obtain or provide essential services or conduct essential activities.

Any person desiring to appeal any decision made by the Board of County Commissioners or the Planning Commission with respect to any matter considered at any meeting or hearing will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made which includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.   For this virtual meeting, persons may obtain a verbatim record of the proceeding by contacting the Clerk and Comptroller’s Office, East Pasco Government Center, 14326 6th Street, Suite 201, Dade City, Florida 33523-3414; or at (352) 521-4345.
