:
PUBLIC NOTICE: Pasco County proposes to utilize grant funding to perform a vulnerability assessment and develop adaptation strategies as part of a county-wide resiliency plan. The grant project, if funded, will engage diverse and disadvantaged segments of the community in development of a resiliency plan that includes: an adaptation planning process, community vulnerability assessment, identify and prioritize resiliency actions and goals, objectives and policy amendments for incorporation into the Comprehensive Plan’s Coastal Management Element and other Comprehensive Plan elements as needed. These funds are available through HUD’s newly created Community Development Block Grant - Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) and will be used to fund disaster mitigation programs to better protect Florida from future disasters.
The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) has allocated $20,000,000.00 in funds for the CDBG-MIT General Planning Support Program. As of June 3, 2020, the amount of funding to be requested by Pasco County has not been specifically determined. It is expected to be in the $250,000.00 to $800,000.00 range.
