Pasco County Utilities Connection Fee Rate Changes Take Effect January 3, 2022
Article VII of the Florida Constitution, Chapter 125, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 110 of the Pasco County Code of Ordinances empowers the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) to establish and revise water, wastewater, and reclaimed water rates, fees, and charges whenever necessary.
On October 12, 2021, the BCC adopted Ordinance No. 21-24, amending the Land Development Code to modify the term “impact fees” to “connection fees” to allow water and wastewater connection fees to be set via resolution, as provided for in Chapter 110 of the Pasco County Code of Ordinances.
On October 26, 2021, the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners approved the adoption of rate resolution, setting water and wastewater connection fees, formerly known as impact fees.
Effective January 3, 2022, the connection fees will index annually at 1.5% (water) and 3.5% (wastewater), over the next four years (Fiscal Years 2022 through 2025). Therefore, there will be an increase in connection fee amounts, as indicated below:
