Pasco Hernando Workforce Board Vacancies
Notice is hereby given that applications are being accepted from individuals qualified to fill a vacancy under the category of Education, defined by Local Workforce Development Board Composition, Certification and Decertification Policy Number 91 (CareerSource Florida), as:
“representatives of entities administering education and training activities in the local area, including...a private education provider”.

Additionally, there are vacancies under the Business category, defined by Policy 91, referenced above, as:
“owners of a business, chief executives or operating officers of businesses, or other business executives or employers with optimum policymaking or hiring authority; represent businesses, including small businesses, or organizations representing businesses that provide employment opportunities that, at a minimum, include high-quality, work-relevant training and development in in-demand industry sectors or occupations in the local area; and are appointed from among individuals nominated by local business organizations and business trade associations”.

Meetings

The Pasco-Hernando Workforce Board (PHWB) meets quarterly, with sub-committee meetings scheduled during the remaining months.  Meetings may be attended in person or by teleconference.

Members

The organization is governed by a Board of Directors in accordance the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA) and its replacement, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), and Florida Statute 445.007.  The composition and appointment of Board Members is consistent with the provisions of state and federal laws.

Membership Terms

Members of the PHWB serve for a term of four (4) years. Members are eligible to serve for three consecutive four year terms; however, there must be a one year break in service prior to becoming eligible again for re-appointment.

Purpose

The Pasco-Hernando Workforce Board, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that serves Pasco and Hernando counties by administering local workforce development and welfare reform programs through state and federal initiatives. PHWB is one of 24 Local Workforce Development Boards in Florida operating under the governance of CareerSource Florida, Inc.
