5. How do I qualify for a position if I have no work experience?

Volunteer and community service experience may be considered as qualifications for a position.

6. What does it mean if I am on an outside list?

The outside list means you have met the minimum qualifications for a position and are eligible for an interview. If there is a vacancy and your name is on the list, you may be contacted for an interview.

8. What is the status of my employment application?

To view the status of your employment application, go to governmentjobs.com and click on job seekers, enter your user ID and password and the status of your application will be displayed.

10. When I checked the status of my application, it says on eligible list, what does that mean?

The on eligible list means that you have met the minimum qualifications for a position. Your name has been placed on a list for a possible interview. The list expires six months from the date that it was created.
