This 210-acre Preserve was acquired as part of the 7,136-acre Weeki Wachee Preserve managed by the Southwest Florida Water Management District. This site is owned both by Pasco County and the Southwest Florida Water Management District.

Preserve Information

Aripeka Sandhills was acquired as part of the 7,136-acre Weeki Wachee Preserve managed by the Southwest Florida Water Management District. The Weeki Wachee Preserve is part of a regional system of conservation lands that extends up to Crystal River Buffer Preserve, preserving the southernmost coastal hardwood hammock in western Florida. As part of this large preserve, Aripeka Sandhills preserves important habitat communities such as dense hardwood swamps and pine-covered sandhills. The preserve has 1.6 miles of hiking trails.
