Parks, Recreation And Natural Resources

Pasco County Parks, Recreation, & Natural Resources is split into five divisions: Parks and Trails, Park Operations, Recreation, Natural Resources Conservation, Fiscal and Support and Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus. The divisions operate on an approximate budget of $20.8 million with funds allocated amongst these following nine programs:

With 190 full-time employees and an additional 155 seasonal employees hired annually, the department operates and maintains:

  • 14 Passive Parks
  • 4 Recreation Complexes
  • 5 Community Centers
  • 2 Swimming Pools
  • 1 Tourism Sports Campus
  • 4 kayak/canoe launches
  • 121 Athletic Fields
  • 3 Public Boat Ramps
  • 6920 Acres of Environmentally Sensitive Land
  • 15,000 Acres of Park Land, Trails and Open Space
We also provide 121 recreational programs and 40 events per year including social events, instructional classes and summer and winter programming.
