Your community needs you!  It’s never too early to start making a difference.  Pasco County Emergency Management is calling on high school students to step up and take part in our second annual HERricane Summer Camp.

HERricane is a unique and FREE, week-long program developed in Arlington County, Virginia, offering a rare opportunity for young women in grades 9-12 to explore emergency management-related careers.

WHO: HERricane Summer Camp is open to young women enrolled in a Pasco County High School in August 2024 (i.e., incoming 9th grade students are welcome to apply).

WHEN: Monday, July 15 – Friday, July 19 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

WHERE: Pasco County Emergency Operations Center 8744 Government Drive | Building A New Port Richey, FL                    

APPLY NOW: Interested students should apply no later than Friday, May 3, 2024. You can fill out the application, which includes a short essay question, by clicking here. Students under 18 will need a parental/legal guardian’s signature.

HERricane is not just a learning experience; it's a chance to gain valuable skills and training. The program includes multiple sessions and activities with speakers from various fields. Upon completion, students will receive Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training and 40 volunteer hours.
